Privacy Policy

This policy covers SoJob (sojob.app) and the SoJob Copilot browser extension. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We build resume, interview, and job-application tools around one goal: helping you apply for jobs faster and more accurately, using your own data — never selling it, and never using it to advertise to you or anyone else.

Creating a SoJob account and using our tools involves information you choose to give us:

• Account details — name, email address, and authentication information.
• Your résumé/CV content, Application Profile (work history, education, eligibility, preferences), cover letters, and any other documents you upload or create.
• Interview practice sessions and the answers you write during them.
• Payment details, handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store card numbers.

The extension is designed to read and act on the minimum it needs to autofill a job application form:

• Job page content. When a page looks like a job posting or application form, the extension reads the visible job title, company name, and job description from that page, and the labels of visible form fields — so it can match them to your Application Profile and résumé, or, for open-ended questions, draft an answer grounded in your own CV data.
• Form fields it fills. The extension writes values into visible form fields on your behalf — text, dropdowns, checkboxes, file uploads (attaching a résumé/cover letter file already stored in your SoJob account). It never reads or fills password fields, payment fields, or fields on sites unrelated to a job application, and it never submits a form for you — you always review and submit it yourself.
• Your SoJob account token. After you sign in on sojob.app, the extension stores a connection token locally in your browser (via the browser's own extension storage) so it can fetch your résumé and Application Profile and request AI-drafted answers on your behalf. This token never leaves your browser except to authenticate requests to SoJob's own servers.

The extension requests broad site access (so it can work on any job board or employer application system, which can’t be listed in advance) but only actively reads or fills a page when that page looks like a job posting or application step. It does not track your general browsing history or activity on unrelated sites.

• To operate the résumé builder, ATS optimiser, interview practice, job tracker, and autofill features.
• To match your résumé against a job description and draft tailored résumé content, cover letters, and application answers.
• To keep your Job Tracker up to date, including applications the extension detects you’ve submitted on any site.
• To communicate with you about your account, and to maintain and improve the service.

Drafting résumé content, cover letters, and application answers is powered by OpenAI’s API. To do this, we send the relevant job description, your CV data, and your Application Profile to OpenAI for the sole purpose of generating that response — never your account credentials or payment information. We never ask AI to answer voluntary demographic/EEO self-identification questions (race, gender identity, disability status, veteran status, and similar) on your behalf; those are always left for you to answer yourself.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us run SoJob — hosting, database, and AI processing (OpenAI) — bound to use it only to provide their service to us.
• Employers or application systems you choose to submit an application to, which receive whatever you submit through them, same as if you’d filled it in yourself.
• Authorities, if required by law.

• Your résumé, Application Profile, and other account data are retained while your account is active.
• You can disconnect the browser extension at any time from Settings — this immediately revokes its access token.
• Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored locally in your browser.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us below.

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections, access controls, and secure hosting — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.

SoJob is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated to you.
